Why was receiving the HBAPA-LEF Scholarship Important to you?
The scholarship was important to me for two reasons. First, I really needed the financial assistance. Unlike most of my peers, I was a mother of two by the time I graduated law school. The scholarship helped me pay for child care and other expenses while I continued studying as a full-time day student at Temple. Second, the scholarship was important because it acknowledged and rewarded the effort that I was making in advancing myself and my career. It was empowering to be recognized in such a way by a group of people that I very much respect.
