Mayor Signs New Ordinance to Protect Immigrant Consumers

We have some important news to share. In December 2014, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter signed a new ordinance regulating immigration legal service providers.
 

Sponsored by Councilman Dennis O'Brien and Councilwoman Maria Quiñones-Sánchez, the ordinance will help to protect immigrant consumers from scam artists and other unscrupulous providers. 

Numerous advocates, elected officials, and community leaders worked together to develop the legislation, which was passed unanimously by Council earlier in December.Read a Philadelphia Inquirer story about the ordinance.
