Pennsylvania Innocence Project Annual Celebration

The Pennsylvania Innocence Project's Annual Celebration will be Wednesday, May 11, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, at WHYY Studios, 150 N. 6thStreet. The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail party. The program will feature Mr. Kenneth Thompson, District Attorney for Brooklyn; recognized nationally for the creation of his office’s highly successful Conviction Review Unit (CRU). Mr. Thompson will receive the Hero of Justice Award; Bradley Bridge, Defender Association of Philadelphia, will receive the Maureen Rowley Award for his role in the reversal of over 1,000 drug convictions tainted by police misconduct; and the Edward D. Ohlbaum Volunteer Award will be presented to Jeffrey Bresch and Katelyn Matscherz, Jones Day, for helping to win a new trial and release on bail for Crystal Weimer.
