President's Message
Dear Friends:
Happy New Year! I am excited for 2017 and the wonderful opportunity to be this year’s President.
I would like to take this opportunity to discuss my vision in 2017 for the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania. However before diving in, I would like to thank the extraordinary leadership of our immediate past president, Ms. Priscilla Jimenez. It is without a doubt that 2016 was an extraordinary year because of her leadership, tenacity and willingness to elevate the presence of the HBA. I am so thankful for her friendship and continued guidance as I assume this new role.
My vision for 2017 is to continue the extraordinary work of our past presidents; the momentum of progress and excellence must be carried forward. With your assistance, I hope to expand our presence in the Commonwealth. We will reach out to our friends out in western and central Pennsylvania, with the hopes of holding events in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg.
This year I hope to expand our relationship with other Hispanic organizations furthering the economic and educational opportunities of Latinos in our community. HBA will continue our mission of supporting law students, young attorneys, and further facilitating our members of the Bar to cultivate professional and personal relationships.
As a public interest attorney, I aspire to create opportunities for our members to use their legal talents to help more Latinos in need of guidance, and educate the public about their legal rights and obligations.
You, our members, are the soul or our organization. Together we are a very promising force for change and I challenge you all to join me in helping me realize my vision and goals for this coming year.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of you in advance for embracing me, having patience, educating, and working with me. We have a thriving organization and I am truly humbled by the immense confidence, and this leadership opportunity. This year will be extraordinary, and I am excited for the challenge.
Warmly,
Juan M. Baez
President of HBA-PA
P.S. Don’t forget to pay your dues!
